Understanding cancellations on LeyApp
LeyApp has a clear, fair cancellation policy built around a simple principle: once your appointment is less than 24 hours away, it is confirmed and non-modifiable. This protects both clients and lawyers.
This article explains the 24-hour rule, when you can cancel or reschedule, what happens if someone doesn't show up, and how refunds work.
Cancellation policy
LeyApp's cancellation policy is based on how far in advance you make changes relative to the scheduled consultation time. The key cutoff is 24 hours before your appointment.
Policy details
- More than 24 hours before — You can cancel or reschedule freely. Cancellations receive a full refund.
- Within 24 hours — The booking is confirmed and cannot be cancelled or rescheduled. Plan accordingly.
- Client no-show — If you do not attend and did not cancel in time, the full consultation fee is charged.
- Lawyer no-show — If the lawyer does not attend within 15 minutes of the scheduled time, you receive an automatic full refund.
The 24-hour rule
Once your appointment is less than 24 hours away, the booking is locked. You cannot cancel or reschedule it. The cancel and reschedule buttons will no longer be available in your dashboard.
This rule exists to protect the lawyer's time. When a lawyer accepts your booking, they reserve that time slot exclusively for you. Last-minute changes leave them with an empty slot they cannot fill.
Make sure to review your booking details well in advance. If you need to make changes, do so more than 24 hours before the appointment.
Once inside the 24-hour window, your booking is final. Make sure your schedule is clear before the cutoff. You will receive reminders 3 days before, 24 hours before, and on the morning of your appointment.
How to cancel a booking
To cancel (more than 24 hours before your appointment), go to your Bookings page in the dashboard. Find the booking and click 'Cancel Booking'. A confirmation dialog will show you the full refund amount.
On the mobile app, open the booking detail screen and tap 'Cancel Booking'. The cancel option is only available when the appointment is more than 24 hours away.

How refunds work
Refunds are processed automatically through Stripe. When you cancel more than 24 hours before your appointment, a full refund is initiated immediately.
Depending on your bank, the refund may take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement. Stripe processes the refund instantly, but banks have their own processing times.
Refunds typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days. If you haven't received your refund after 10 business days, contact your bank first, then reach out to LeyApp support.
No-show policy
A no-show occurs when either party does not join the consultation within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time.
If you (the client) do not show up, the lawyer can mark the booking as 'No show' after the 15-minute grace period. The full consultation fee is then captured — no refund is issued.
If the lawyer does not show up within 15 minutes, you can report the no-show from your booking details page. A full refund is issued automatically, and the lawyer receives a penalty on their account.
Repeated no-shows by lawyers may lead to temporary suspension from the platform. LeyApp takes attendance seriously to maintain trust for all users.
Appointment reminders
LeyApp sends you reminders so you never miss an appointment. You will receive notifications at three key moments: 3 days before, 24 hours before, and on the morning of your consultation.
Reminders are sent via email and push notification. Make sure your notification preferences are enabled in Settings to receive them.
Fraud protection
LeyApp monitors booking patterns to detect and prevent fraudulent activity. This includes suspicious booking patterns and attempts to abuse the refund system.
If unusual activity is detected on an account, it may be temporarily restricted while our team investigates. Legitimate users are never affected by these protections.
Need to change your appointment time? You can reschedule more than 24 hours before. Both clients and lawyers can propose a new time without losing the booking. See our Rescheduling a Booking article for details.
