What are interactive walkthroughs?
Interactive walkthroughs are self-running product tours built into LeyApp. Each walkthrough guides you through a specific feature — with highlighted steps, spoken narration, and on-screen prompts — so you can learn at your own pace without leaving the app.
You can launch a walkthrough from the Help Center, from a help article, or from any help button inside the product. Walkthroughs run directly in the interface, not in a separate window.
Two modes: Sandbox and Guided
- Watch the demo (Sandbox) — A popup runs a pre-loaded copy of the app with sample data. Nothing is saved. The walkthrough drives itself from start to finish, so you can sit back and watch without touching anything.
- Guide me in the app (Guided) — The walkthrough runs inside your real account. Each step highlights an element and waits for you to click before advancing. If you are not logged in, you will be prompted to sign in first.
In Guided mode the walkthrough pauses on a login prompt if you are not already signed in. Your progress is preserved and the tour resumes after you log in.
Verbosity levels
- Compact — Minimal tooltip text and no pause between steps. Designed for recording or quick review; steps advance automatically.
- Normal (default) — Full step description in the tooltip bubble plus the full set of playback controls. The recommended level for first-time users.
- Detailed — Extended explanations with extra context, background tips, and links to relevant help articles. Best when you want to understand the "why" behind each step.
Playback controls
- Play / Pause narration — Toggles the spoken audio for the current step. The walkthrough continues to the next step when narration finishes (or when you click Next in manual mode).
- Playback speed — Adjusts narration speed between 0.75× (slower) and 1.5× (faster). Your preference is remembered for the session.
- Mute — Silences all audio without stopping the walkthrough. The visual step progression continues normally.
- Autoplay toggle — When on, steps advance automatically after narration ends. When off, you control when to move to the next step. Compact mode forces autoplay on.
- Back / Next / Skip — Navigate between steps manually, or skip the entire walkthrough. Skipping does not mark the walkthrough as completed.
First-run tip card and "Don't show this again"
The first time you open a walkthrough, a tip card explains the two modes and the verbosity selector. This card only appears once per walkthrough per device.
The tip card includes a "Don't show this again" checkbox. Checking it hides the card on all future launches of that walkthrough. The walkthrough itself still runs normally — you are only hiding the introductory tip, not disabling the tour.
You can always change the verbosity level from the walkthrough controls, even after dismissing the tip card. Look for the settings icon inside the walkthrough panel.
