# The Beckham Law in 2026: Are You Paying Too Much Tax in Spain?

Spain is known for its high progressive tax rates, which can reach up to 47% for top earners. But there is a legal loophole designed specifically to attract foreign talent: The Special Expats Tax Regime, widely known as the "Beckham Law."

## What is the Beckham Law?
This law allows expats moving to Spain for work to be taxed as *non-residents* for their first six years. 

## The Financial Benefit
Instead of paying progressive rates, you pay a flat 24% tax rate on your Spanish-sourced income up to €600,000. Even better, your foreign-sourced income is completely exempt from Spanish taxation!

## Who Qualifies in 2026?
You may qualify if you:
- Are relocating to Spain with an employment contract from a Spanish company.
- Are a Digital Nomad Visa holder.
- Are an administrator of an emerging startup company in Spain.

## The 6-Month Deadline
You must apply for the Beckham Law within 6 months of registering with the Spanish social security system.
